Gallery Description
Paintings, in general can be classified into two different forms. The representational and the abstract.

Representational paintings depict specific physical objects like people, nature, life forms etc. On looking at any representational painting, one can immediately recognize what the painting is about. This style of painting was prevalent till the 19th century.

Abstract paintings got popularized with the idea that paintings need not depict reality in a complete manner. Abstract paintings are not true representations of the physical objects. They differ in their outlook in the sense that the physical object can be modified in its color, shape or design. In other ways, it is completely non-representational of the world that we see around us. The artist becomes a creator giving birth to a piece of art that portrays the world as he or she sees it.

Abstract paintings are the most difficult to understand. One can understand an abstract painting only in relation to its environment. An abstract painting must be understood in the context of the emotions of the artist, the time period in which the artist lives, the aesthetic ability of the artist etc. Only a person with a true sense for colors and their composition, a poet’s eye to look at things and a keen sensitivity towards art can come up with a brilliant abstract painting.

Later emerged a style of painting called the abstract expressionism, where the personality of the artist is represented through the colors and tones of the painting. The artist uses a variety of colors and brush strokes to bring out the inner self.

Our gallery on abstract limited editions brings you a beautiful and rare collection of abstract paintings.
