Action and Adventure movies are those movies that make you sit on the edge of the seat, bite your nails and makes your stomach do somersaults with all that action and thrill on the screen. Over the years, action and adventure movies have changed a lot due to high-end technology, advanced animation, and massive spurts in peoples’ imagination. Action movies are generally all about the “the more things destroyed, the better the movie”. There could be rare movies with proper plots and storylines, but most of the times it involves guns, fights, gun fights, airplanes crashing, building collapsing into sand, and a lot of noise and commotion. Adventure movies are similar to action movies in their noise levels, but would have a storyline and pace that is thrilling and entertaining.
There are many famous action and adventure movie posters, box-office hits that drew and entertained audiences mightily. Die Hard, the Bruce Willis starrer has been an all time favorite movie, which made a hit with a common theme of terrorists holding the common people as hostages. This movie was followed by 2 sequels and was nominated for 4 academy awards.
The Matrix was another one of the action and adventure movies that came with a different view of future and the use of technology in stunts and other scenes. The Matrix came in three parts and made over $150 million. The Matrix was also nominated for 4 academy awards including Best Visual Effects and Editing. And the rage of the day is Star Wars, taking children and adults to a world of spaceships, weird planets, light speed, lightsabers etc. Star Wars directed by George Lucas is a big time hit, all the three episodes of it.
There are many other movies worth mentioning like the Pirates of the Caribbean, Speed, Airforce One, Terminator, Face/Off all of which fascinated people with the fast pace and adventure.
