Gallery Description
Art Wolfe is the probably the most renowned nature and wildlife photographer. He obtained a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Washington and 3 years from then, published his first book ‘Indian Baskets of the Northwest Coast’. He has been on the road for the past 25 years in his quest for capturing nature and wildlife with his lens. He has been to every continent, has shot in over hundred locations and captured more scenic photos than any body probably ever has. His pictures are prolific in beauty and colors. They reflect the natural vivacity of the wildlife and seem to speak the language of nature. His photographs capture the natural scenery, the beautiful hues of nature in the most eloquent style that enraptures the lovers of nature. His pictures are a unique mix of artistic and journalistic styles; they educate people about nature and her off springs, while also appealing to their aesthetic sense. He is most appreciated for the tremendous control color, composition and perspective he possesses.

His work reflects the magnetism of nature that lures him and men in general and the intense love he has for wildlife. This is evident from the fact that he has been hailed as ‘the most sensitive recorder of the rapidly vanishing wildlife’ by the Wildlife Conservation society. He was honored with the first ever Rachel Carson Award by The National Audubon Society, for his work in support of the National Wildlife Refuge system. Art Wolfe has won several awards for his brilliant, captivating photography; some of these include the ‘Alfred Eisenstaedt Magazine Photography Award’ in the year 2000 and ‘Outstanding Nature Photographer of the Year’ in 1998 by the North American Nature Photography Association. He was named “Photographer of the Year 1996” by Photo Media magazine.

In his lifetime, Wolfe has clicked about a million photographs and released over 45 books. Magazines world over publish his photographs and stories. He has even ventures into television productions such as On Location with Art Wolfe, Techniques of the Masters and American Photo's Safari. Some of his other works include, the award winning The Living Wild, Alaska, Colorado, Water, Tribes, Journey Through the Northern Rainforest, Pacific Northwest and Rainforests of the World to name a few.
