One of them is the silent comedy film, which existed before the 1920s and had no proper sound track except for some live music like piano or organ. The second sub-category is the parody or spoof film, which imitates and satirizes other movies, advertisements, people, social events or something that people can easily relate with. There are many other sub-categories like Romantic Comedy movies, Slapstick films, Tragicomedies, which has used the style and culture of the season, to make the audiences laugh.
One of the most famous comedy movies of all times, is Dumb and Dumber starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. This movies is about a limousine driver who after dropping a lady at the airport, sees her dropping her suitcase. He takes a lot of trouble to get the suitcase back to her, before realizing that there are millions of dollars inside the suitcase. The search for the lady, and the spending spree make the movie hilarious and extremely enjoyable. Chicken Run is another one of the famous animated comedy movies where the hens, tired of being food for others decide to break out of their chicken farm with the help of an American newcomer who cannot fly.
