Gallery Description
Deborah DuPont was born in San Antonio, Texas, the eldest child of a family of second generation Americans. DuPont was the first person in her family to attend college graduating with an art degree. She tried her hand at a job in an advertising agent but found the job too confining for her. Her paintings began to be noticed even while she was in college. In fact, she had to do 2 different projects for her graduation because the first one was sold off her wall even before it could be submitted.
DuPont considers her formative years in San Antonio, growing up with the Alamo and other missions as a major influence on her work. The fine art of Deborah DuPont sets the standard in painted photography. Her unique painting style transforms the simplest of places into precious works of art. Through the brilliant use of color and light, she captures the essence of these locales and enriches it with her artistic imagination.
DuPont’s works are part of many corporate and private collections all over the world. Her works have also been displayed on more than 200 gallery shows, exhibitions and juried competitions where they have earned her many prizes.
She lives in San Antonio, but every year she takes a week-long sabbatical traveling outside the US to find inspiration for her new works and also to recharge herself. Some of her favorite locations are the mountainous states of Guanajuato, Zacatecas and San Luis Potosi in Mexico, the warm richness of the Cinque Terra and Tuscan regions in Italy, as well as the romantic splendor of Venice, the cobblestone streets of Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico, the olive covered region of central Spain, the open air markets of Provence in France and the faded elegance of Havana, Cuba.
