Gallery Description
Fishing is not simply throwing in the bait, holding onto the line for hours on end waiting for that trout you will never catch. Fishing is a sport that people have adored, improved, perfected and perfected again for many and varied reasons. It could be for livelihood, as a simple and thrilling hobby or just for the fun of it.
Fishing as a sport involves lot of homework. The first stage is deciding on the place of fishing, like salt-water flats, piers, ponds, lakes, rivers or even small streams. Each of them needs different types of baits and styles of fishing. You also have to check the recent fish counts, surface temperature of water and the weather. Morning, evening and incoming tides are ideal times for fishing but that also depends on where you are going for fishing.
Fishing also involves routine tasks like preparing the rod and reel, making sure that you have enough line, attaching a hook onto the line, attaching a bobber, finding and attaching the right kind of baits, casting the line and retrieving it. Hooks are available in many sizes and it must be chosen based on the size of the fish that you intend to catch. The art of hooking the fish and getting it out of water comes with practice and perseverance.
As the proverb goes “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Fishing is no silly hobby. Take heart to learn it and enjoy it. And have some consideration for nature when you are out fishing. You must be careful to release the young fishes into water, and stick to the size limits of the fishes that you can catch.
The liking for the hobby of fishing is also extended to the art of fishing paintings, which are appreciated throughout the world. Our gallery of fishing paintings brings to you the beauty of this simple past time.
