Vintage photography has gained much popularity during the recent times as collector’s items. The old black and white images of stately looking gentlemen, elegant ladies in their flowing attire, the photos of the civil war times all capture our hearts with their simplicity and their nostalgic feel. There are photographs of the Native Americans dressed in their typical dresses, Indians in their settlements, spectacular locations, soldiers in their uniforms….all of them captured with cameras of the olden times. These photographs have a soft and gentle feel, where the object merges with the background in a fascinating composition.
Black and White photographs are distinctive for their contrast between images, the shades and the concentration of light and dark. The photographer’s name of label could also be included in the photographs revealing the place and time it was taken. But the best indication of the age of the photograph could be the style or fashion of clothes used in the photograph.
