Japanese paintings use a wide variety of media- the horizontal scrolls,
vertical scrolls and the folding screens being few of them. The objects
were mainly landscapes, views from Kyoto, images from the kabuki theatre,
pictures of beautiful women etc.

Japanese art prints
Japanese art printing started in the 16th century and evolved
with the introduction of the multi-color woodblock print. Wood block
printing uses several wooden blocks, each one of them for a separate
colour.
