Gallery Description
Mexico, bordered by US in the north and Guatemala in the south-east is one of the oldest nations in the world. The capital is Mexico City, the largest city in the country. The currency used is Mexican Peso and the predominant language spoken here is Spanish. Many civilizations ruled the nation before Spain conquered the Aztec civilization. From then on, they ruled over Mexico for about 300 years, until the Mexicans revolted and won Independence in 1821. Art and culture dates back many years in Mexico. Their distinct style of art makes them unique. There have been several influential artists and their prints from Mexico; Diego Rivera is probably the most influential and famous of them all. He was not merely a painter, but a realist, a communist crusader. He believed that the working class people had just as much right to appreciate art as anyone else. Diego Rivera prints have put Mexico on the canvas of the art world and have left an indelible mark in the world of art. Our gallery brings a collection of Mexican paintings and Diego Rivera prints and posters for you.
