Music and movies are the most popular form of entertainment. Music is for all occasions; whether you are happy or sad, thrilled or annoyed, music can match any or all of your emotions. From the time man discovered the means of creating sound in a movie, music has been part of it. In fact many movies have their themes been based on music, for instance ‘Sound of Music’, ‘the Moulin Rouge’ to name a few.
In the olden times, movies would have many songs incorporated and weaved into the screenplay of the movie. They thus attained the title ‘musical movies’. The melody and the lyrical value of the songs of popular musical movies make them linger on in our minds even today. Today most movies don’t have such songs in them; in stead famous artists render few songs for the movie that are released as a separate album. This trend might have diminished the popularity of musical movies; however the demand for the posters of musical movies both in the past and currently remain.
Another specialty of these movies is that they often convey strong messages, social, political or others. They combine the power of sound and visual to communicate important ideas and ideals to people in an appealing way!
Movies such as the wizard of oz – Judy Garland, Pink Floyd – The Wall, are popular musicals and many reprints of posters of these movies have been created for movie posters collectors. The posters of the movies as well the singers/movie stars who enact these roles are equally sought after.
Our gallery of musical movie posters brings you a refreshing collection of cheap reprints of some of your all time favorite musicals; if you are looking for vintage posters you can check out our vintage posters gallery as well.
