Gallery Description
Rivers are freely flowing water bodies that usually have their origins in glaciers on top of mountains and merge with sea in the end. Many rivers are seasonal and dry up during summers, and swell with water during monsoons. However many have water all through the year. As rivers flow through the rough terrains of huge mountains and rocks they bend, twist and turn, making it a beautiful site. On the way, they give life to many organisms, trees and plants and collect a wealth of other minerals. All over the world, rivers are considered sacred for they provide livelihood for many. Most civilizations began on the banks of the river and thrived for hundreds of thousands of year. Even today, they are home for many. It is believed that nature has a way of showing her anger, one of them is through rivers: They either dry up causing a draught or swell with anger, brining in severe floods. Rivers have many characteristics; some are calm and friendly, while others fierce and angry. Some meander through their path beautifully and delicately while others rush through the rough terrains. Our gallery brings together a collection of paintings of rivers.
