Spanish paintings
Spain, a member of the EU is geographically located at the crossroads between Europe and Africa. The capital is Madrid city, and Spanish- the language. Romans were the first to invade Spain, even as the Muslims tried to occupy most part of Spain. Muslims occupied Spain for a long time. The Spaniards have a long history behind them; but they always had the reputation of being friendly and flair to enjoy life with food, drinks and art!
The culture of Spain is extremely rich. The Spanish invented the novel and the guitar, gave the world flamenco, Picasso and gazpacho and dreamed up some of the world's most fabulously out-there architecture. Francisco Goya emerged in the 18th century as Spain's most prolific painter and he produced some wonderfully unflattering portraits of royalty. The art world in the early 20th century was influenced by a remarkable group of Spanish artists: Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Joan Miró and Salvador Dalí.
We’ve tried to introduce Spain to you through our collection of Spanish paintings, prints, and posters.
