The depth of the ocean is home to thousands of beautiful fishes, giant clams, sea cucumbers, sea stars and other coral reef creatures. Sharks, whales and the bigger fish reign in this distant world. They preside over the smaller creatures likes corals, seals, fishes all of them decorated with the most wonderful patters, designs and colors.
The Great Barrier Reef of Australia is typical of this world, teeming with a remarkable variety of corals and other sea creatures. It is the world's biggest World Heritage Area extending over 2000 kilometres and occupying and area of 35 million hectares. It would be amusing to think that this marine protected area is bigger than the size of Italy. This mature ecosytem has evolved over thousands of years and is one of the richest in terms of diversity of sea creatures. People from all over the world are come to enjoy the beauty of the world teeming with strange and wonderful creatures.
